Cap de Formentor literally means \u2018end of Formentor\u2019 &#8211; the name of the 20-kilometre peninsula, northeast of the port of Pollen\u00e7a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that car access to the Formentor peninsula is restricted during the summer months (1st of June to 30th of September), being limited to just residents, public transport, specially authorised and emergency vehicles, as well as cyclists.<br>A windswept lighthouse stands on this promontory and, although it\u2019s not open to visitors, you can walk around its rocky surroundings, looking out to the cliffs where Eleonora\u2019s falcons nest in the winter. You can also spot seabirds in their thousands during migration periods.<br>Be sure to take a camera when driving this peninsula: the scenery is jaw-dropping and there are great photo opportunities at the Mirador de Mal Pas and the Talaia d\u2019Albercutx watchtower along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Platja (or Playa) de Formentor is a lovely pine-clad beach in a beautiful cove on the peninsula, with views of the mountains.
